Day Zero Games: Solar Punk Jam

Asami’s Journey follows a day in the life of Asami and her team as they care for a greenhouse, craft herbal medicine cookies, and prepare deliveries—all disrupted by an unexpected storm. The tasks shift from peaceful routine to urgent repairs and protection, culminating in a heartfelt thank-you from a villager in need.

My Role: I composed the full soundtrack, creating a series of layered, loopable tracks (Intro, A, B, C, and Climax) that mirror the game’s pacing and emotional arc. The music starts with a gentle 2-chord ambient intro, moves into soft melodic loops with delicate instrumentation (pads, subtle plucks, airy textures), and gradually builds intensity as the storm worsens. The seamless loops are structurally identical for smooth progression, and the climax stinger brings a dramatic lift before resolving back to calm.

The goal was to support the story’s quiet resilience—highlighting the care, stress, and ultimate relief of helping others, while leaving room for the game’s soft visual storytelling and sign-language moments to breathe.

Orchestration:

The flute would be representing Asami, the piano being her environment and the other instruments make up for the people she meets and the situations she encounters.
