Project Overview
Originally conceived as a 10‑minute modular loop for a rapid game jam, Lucid puts you in the wings of Margarine Walker, a time‑traveling butterfly who must resolve the residents’ problems before the timer expires. The butterfly effect grants up to three counter‑resets, offering strategic replayability.
Now evolving into a full 3D exploration game, Lucid will expand from the initial 10‑min looping soundtrack to 30‑min adaptive score loops, supporting cozy aerial navigation and emergent narrative beats.

Composer’s Role & Musical Design
- Modular Composition: Crafted the core 10‑minute loop "Déjà Vus" consisting of ten 1‑minute segments at 120 BPM. Each segment introduces a new layer or variation, building from a delicate jazz piano to an ethereal orchestral‑jazz climax.
- Thematic Structure: Starts with a floaty piano motif, progressively adding ambient pads, brass, rhythm section, bass, and guitar every 60 beats, culminating in an orchestral jazz–inspired bridge for the final four minutes.
- Adaptive Sound Design: Designed with FMOD‑friendly stems to enable seamless layering and real‑time variation based on player actions and time‑travel resets.
- Production: Mixed and mastered the demo track for clarity across both in‑game playback and standalone listening.
